The seed packets (first given out at Metchosin Community Day on 08Sep2024) contain a mixture of Common and Greater Camas seeds.
Sow the seed in the fall when the weather has cooled and the rainy season has begun.
Make sure the soil is well weeded and loose.
Sprinkle seed lightly on the soil surface then cover with no more than 1/4 inch of soil or coarse sand. Press down firmly.
Water evenly and protect the area from foraging birds.
The seed will sprout in the spring after a three-month period of cold has passed.
The plants will not bloom until their bulbs are sufficiently large which may take from 4 to 6 years.
